Such an awesome couple! I'm so excited for their wedding!
Valentines Day | Pittsburgh Wedding Photographer
Whether you celebrate Valentines Day or do not recognize Hallmark holidays - I hope yesterday was a wonderful day for you!
Although only a few people we know actually celebrated the day - my boyfriend and I decided to. (We both love getting dressed up and going out, so really any excuse to do those things will have us excited.) He surprised me with dinner at one of our favorite restaurants followed by a screening of "Just Go With It" - which, by the way, is one of the funniest movie's I have seen in ages!
It was an absolutely wonderful day in every way possible and I feel so lucky that I was able to spend it with such a great guy - who also happens to be so photogenic!
A little back story about my boyfriend and I -
In August of 2006, I was sitting in a meeting with my fellow co-workers at a local H&M store when this boy who looked just a little younger than me walked in. He was new - decked out in a band t-shirt, piano belt and a multicolored fauxhawk. I swooned immediately, whispering to my friend across the table that he was adorable. We didn't speak at all during that meeting and he seemed to be gone just as quickly as he had arrived.
A few days later we worked our first shift together. We had only talked for about 5 minutes before I realized I had nearly everything in common with him. We were both in relationships and I knew nothing would come of my silly work-crush, but I was sure we'd become very close friends fast - and we did. It was only a matter of time until we were chatting online every night and comparing our schedules to see when we worked together next. No matter what stresses I was going through in my personal life, I looked forward to going to work because he seemed to be the only person who could put my mind at ease.
Fast forward 2 years later - we are both single and dating other people off and on, sharing our horror stories of bad relationships and pointless dates. Suddenly it hit me. I realized that the only reason I had stayed at that particular job for so long was because of him. It was time to confess the workcrush that had turned into so much more.
I was absolutely terrified at the idea of telling him as I did not want to risk messing up such a fantastic friendship. Another coworker ended up telling him for me in an extremely silly way! The very next day, he tells me that he has felt the same way since the day we met. I'm almost certain that when he said those words, I saw heart-shaped balloons and fireworks exploding all around. It was the best news I had ever received. That was one of the happiest moments of my life.

The weather has been a bit moody lately. One day it's bitterly cold and the next is warm with the smell of Spring in the air. I'm personally perfectly alright with the bitter cold as long as there are a few warm days in the mix! This small preview of Spring has me so excited! Free Wedding Photography Contest!
Congratulations on your engagement! To lighten the load of your wedding day, Veronica Varos Photography is offering a free wedding photography contest!
DETAILS:
- This contest is open to couples all over Northeast USA. Winners more than 45 miles outside of zipcode 15201 (Pittsburgh, PA) will be responsible for providing all transportation, travel and lodging costs. Arrangements must be made 40 days before wedding date. If you are unsure what the travel costs may be, please email me at veronicavaros@gmail.com for an approximate quote.
- The event date must be taking place in either 2011 or 2012.
- All entries must be received by March 21, 2011 to be eligible.
- Finalists will be determined by the number of "likes" on their comment/picture on the Veronica Varos Photography fan page. The top 3 couples photo/post's with the highest number of "likes" will move onto the final round of voting which will take place on this blog.
- Winners will be notified by March 27, 2011 via Facebook. Failure to respond within 5 days will result in forfeiture and the next runner up will be given the opportunity to move onto the next round.
- All of the prizes are non-transferable and have no cash value.
- Prize is only eligible on dates not yet booked on my calendar. If I am booked on your wedding date, then you must forfeit the prize and it will be offered to the next qualifying couple.

I had a wonderful New Years Eve that began by celebrating this amazing couple. Matt and Courtney are two of the nicest people I had the pleasure of meeting in 2010. The ceremony was held at Lidia's in the Strip District and it was absolutely beautiful. There was so much love floating around that room! I feel so lucky to have been able to attend the wedding of such a wonderful couple.
